Blanche Markham

Blanche Branton Markham, 95, of Colonial Heights died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at John Randolph Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert F. and Mattie Collier Branton, and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard O. Markham, a daughter, Peggy M. Gomer, a son, Allen Ross Markham, and three sisters. Mrs. Markham was a member of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Howard L. and Jane P. Markham of Colonial Heights; one sister, Estelle Byrum of Corapeake, North Carolina; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Virginia 24153 with the Rev. Gene C. Tatum officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
