Bobby Vaughan Sr.

Bobby G. Vaughan, Sr. of Dinwiddie completed his journey here on earth on Friday March 8, 2013 he has gone to join his parents Leonard and Marjorie Vaughan, sisters Frances Wamsley, Mariana Fable and a brother Gordon Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan retired from Brown and Williamson and was a local business owner in Petersburg for fifteen years he owned Cape Hatteras Seafood, and for eighteen years Warren's Restaurant. He was a dedicated husband and father and great provider for his family. Mr. Vaughan helped anyone he ever met in need. He was a grandfather and a great-grandfather that provided many happy years to his grandchildren. His favorite TV Show was Dancing with the Stars, and his favorite pass time was sitting and swimming at his sons pool. Granddaughters Chelsea and Areba cared for their grandfather during his failing health and loved him dearly. A special thanks to the Hospice nurses Liz, Lee Ann, and Princess and special friend James P. Kelly. He is survived by his wife Delilah M. Vaughan, daughter Frances "Sista" Lewis and son in-law, John M. Faulkner of Dinwiddie, son and daughter in-law Bobby G. Vaughan II and Beverly of Dinwiddie, son William C. Mayes of Dinwiddie, grandchildren Chelsea D. Meekins and fiancé Les Wilson Jr., Areba J. Meekins and Lexxy S. Lewis, great-grandson Phoenix X. Wilson all of Dinwiddie, brother Douglas L. Vaughan of Colonial Heights, sister Ellen Benfield of Colonial Heights and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 13, 2013 in the Petersburg Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road with Pastor Ron Shortt officiating. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday March 12, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.
