Bonnie Brown

d. September 2, 2011

Bonnie Jean Brown, 68, of Prince George, joined her Savior on Friday morning, September 2, 2011. Bonnie grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where she had a short career as a bookkeeper before marrying her high school sweetheart, Larry, and devoting her life to her family. She enjoyed cooking, interior decorating and never saw a dog she didn't love. In recent years her favorite pastime became "spoiling her grandchildren." Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Fred R. Williams and Mildred E. Miller Williams. She is survived by Larry, her loving husband of 46 years, and their daughters, Carol Hopkins and her husband Mark, and Deborah Piszcz and her husband Daniel. Bonnie was "Mamma" to four grandchildren, Christopher Hopkins, Melissa Hopkins, Natalie Piszcz and Nicole Piszcz. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Williams of Chester.. Bonnie's humble, loving and giving spirit will be missed by all. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Reverend Mike Osborne will conduct a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. Donations in memory of Bonnie can be made to the Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090-6011, online at www.alz.org, or to the Colonial Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
