Boyd Griggs Ii

Boyd Gordon Griggs Jr., 70, of Prince George Virginia, left us to be with the good lord in heaven, on Saturday August 8 ^th , 2020.

He passed in his Prince George home where he had raised a family with his loving wife, Rachel Bailey Griggs and son, Boyd Griggs 3rd.

Boyd was born in Hopewell, Va. After graduating from Hopewell High, Boyd married Rachel Bailey. Boyd enlisted in the navy, after serving his country, Boyd entered and graduated from the college of William and Mary in Williamsburg Va. Boyd moved his family back to Prince George where he became the director of Crater Criminal Justice Academy. During this time, Boyd was invited to become an ambassador for law enforcement to China. Boyd’s greatest service began when he joined the Blue Lodge 115 of Prince George County. He became a Master of 115 and went on to the Acca Shrine, where he was a member of the director’s staff hospital driver and the 109 Potentate of Acca in 2014. Boyd was also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters. On November 18th Boyd lost his loving wife of 47 years, Rachel Bailey Griggs to cancer. Boyd appreciated the outpouring of love and support from family and friends to enable him to get through the loss. Now Boyd and Rachel are reunited. Boyd is survived by his son, Boyd Griggs 3rd; and granddaughter, Jessica Griggs; along with many extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020 in Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23836.  Boyd asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, c/o Acca Shrine Center, 1712 Bellevue Avenue, Richmond Va. 23227.
