Brenda Frith Grant, 74, of South Chesterfield, passed away Monday, July 11, 2022. She was born in Petersburg on March 16, 1948 to the late Garland Cleveland “Billy” and Ada Lilley “Kay” Frith and preceded by her sister Joyce Frith Burton. Brenda was a member of Courthouse Church of Christ. She worked for Brown and Williamson before becoming an Educator with the Chesterfield County Head Start Program until her retirement. Mrs. Grant was a member of Matoaca Woman’s Club where she served as Chairman of International Affairs and organized many fundraising projects. She is survived by her three children, Phillip Randolph “Ricky” Brooks Jr, James Austin “Jimmy” Grant Jr. (Tonya), Jamie Grant Frasier (Scott) and stepdaughter Kathy Marie Dowdy; grandsons, Brandan Scott Brooks, Codey Preston Brooks, Justin Allen Story, and Matthew Austin Emerson; granddaughters, Emma Kaylyn Frasier, Ella Reese Frasier, Austyn Marie Grant, Bristol Grace Grant, Taylor Faith Grant, and Chelsea Dean Story; great-grandson Peyton Dean King. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2022 with Rev. Nathan Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Chester.
