Bruce Franklin "Boo" Jarratt, 72, of Prince George, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. He was born in Dinwiddie County, and was the son of the late Johnnie Jenkins and Ruth Chambliss Grizzard Jarratt. Mr. Jarratt was preceded in death by his son, William Franklin Jarratt. He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie. He is survived by three daughters, Sandra Renee Jarratt of Dinwiddie, Pamela Lynne Jarratt of Prince George, and Beverly Ann Horton and husband, Michael of Dinwiddie; the mother of his children, Frances M. "Jenny" Babb of Blackstone; five grandchildren, SSG Christopher David Meloy, presently serving in Afghanistan, Ryan Lee Meloy, Glen Ray Horton both of Dinwiddie, Shannon Renee Jarratt, Justin William Scott Jarratt both of Prince George; two great-granddaughters, Halie Nicole Meloy and Cassidy Mae Meloy both of Dinwiddie; three brothers, Bollie Lee Jarratt and wife, Betty of Dinwiddie, Clifton Gene Jarratt and wife, Ruby of Hopewell, and Everett Eugene Jarratt and wife, Barbara of South Carolina; three sisters, Peggy Anne Brinker and husband, Rodger of Hopewell, Gloria Bernice Kollmann of Chesterfield, and Pauline Marie Pulley of Colonial Heights; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with Pastor David Holbert officiating. Burial in Reidville Church Cemetery, Sussex. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
