Buenaventura "Sandy" Guzman-Santiago, 86, of Prince George, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Born in Utuado Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan Guzman and Maria Santiago. He was preceded in death by his in-laws, Roy and Catherine Bendall. Sandy was a retired 28 year veteran of the United States Army, and Fort Lee Civil Service. He was also a member of the Petersburg American Legion Post #2, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #882. He is survived by his wife, Martha Bendall Guzman; daughters, Mayda Guzman of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Manuela Reinhart of Henrico; son, Anthony Guzman of Prince George; granddaughter, Yesina Cruz of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; great-grandson, Sebastian Cruz; great-granddaughter, Yairovi Cruz; two sisters, Antonia Guzman of Puerto Rico, and Blanca Carrion of Florida; four brothers, Juan Guzman of Florida, Efrin Guzman of Puerto Rico, Monterrate Guzman of Florida, and Antonio Guzman of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon, Monday, August 20, 2012 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend Tom Taylor officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon.
