Calvin Dawson

Calvin Wilson Dawson, age 74, of McKenney, died Jan. 20, 2021. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Adams Dawson, and two daughters, Heather Jean Dawson Tierney (Tim), and Sarah Woodrow Dawson Vance (Jim), and a granddaughter, Laura Tierney, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Wilson Dawson. Calvin was the son of Woodrow Dawson and Ruby Vernon Dawson of Glen Allen.  Calvin was a construction superintendent of many years, most recently with Venture Construction Co. of Midlothian. He was an avid fan of the outdoors who went hunting and fishing as often as he could when he wasn’t working on home building and remodeling projects. He doted on his wife and children, and his numerous dogs and cats. A small, outdoor memorial service at the McKenney property may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, 39 Garrett Street, Suite 200, Warrenton VA 20186.
