Calvin Mayes Milton, 82, died Friday October 23, 2009 at Colonial Heights Health and Rehabilitation Center. Calvin was a lifelong resident of the Tri- City area, born in Ford, Va, and lived in Petersburg, Chesterfield, Colonial Heights, and the last 40 years in Dinwiddie County. Calvin retired in 1988, and had been the owner of Milton Associates Insurance Agency, representing First Colony Life Insurance Company. Mr. Milton was the son of the late John W. and Sue Elmore Milton. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Frank Hugh (Red) and Cecil Milton. Mr. Milton is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Audrey Nadine Butler Milton; two sons, Donald (Donnie) J. Milton and wife, Verna Gail Minetree Milton of Colonial Heights, Kenneth W. and wife, Vera Lynn Ball Milton of Ford, Va.; one grandson, D. Cameron and wife, Erin H. Milton of Richmond; two granddaughters, Kathryn Paige Milton of Colonial Heights, Kristin Nicole Milton of Petersburg; one brother, Edgar Earl Milton of Petersburg; special niece who was like a daughter, Joyce A. Milton of Colonial Heights; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the Cameron Ave Church of Christ, 601 Cameron Ave. Colonial Heights, with Pastors Jonnie Hutchinson, Bill Voss, and Mark Daily officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday in the Colonial Heights chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
