Carl Harrison

Carl M. Harrison, 82, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by his parents, John "Att" and Otelia Barnes Harrison; and sisters, Alma, Bett, Nancy, Mildred, and Myrtle; brothers, John Pete, Wallace, and Al. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during WWII, and was retired from Hercules in Hopewell. He was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284, the 40 & 8 Voiture 1530, the DAV#47, and the VFW#637. He is survived by his wife, Lee Griffin Harrison; two sons, Keith of Oklahoma City, Kent and his wife, Mary; and grandchildren, Griffin, Annabelle and Grant of Chesterfield; sisters, June and Jerry, and brother, Otis; and numerous nieces and nephews. Many thanks to those who visited and supported Carl. A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. The family requests that no food be taken to the residence please.
