Carl Louis Ladd, Sr. (Bad-Ladd) of Dinwiddie, Virginia went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 29, 2024 at the age of 69, at his residence. Carl was a member of the Heights Baptist Church in Chesterfield, VA.
Carl was born in Petersburg, Virginia. He attended and graduated from Dinwiddie High School.
His passion in life was playing music from the age of 12 years old. As he got older, he started his first country band, Country Showman, to ending up playing Gospel Music for his Lord with family and friends.
The Love of his life was his wife and children, and especially his grandchildren. He also loved to take his family and friends out on his pontoon boat, play cards, video games with his grandchildren, and play darts in his spare time. As he got older, he decided to put a pool in the back yard for swimming and playing volleyball with the family. He always loved to get together with his friends and have jam (music) sessions in the garage. Carl was also a long-time avid Denver Broncos fan.
Carl was preceded in death by his father James Harold Ladd and mother, Marjorie Davis Ladd. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Ramey Ladd; son, Carl Louis Ladd, Jr. (Karen); daughter, Rachel Ladd Dotts (Jack); grandchildren, Dillon Scott Ladd, Davis Payne Ladd, Oscar Joseph Pride (JoJo), Jaylin Olivia Pride, and James Jordan Pride; sister, Agnes (Aggie) Ladd Williamson (Wayne Sr.); nephews, Wayne Williamson, Jr. (Tanya) and Chris Williamson (Tiffany); and numerous extended family relatives.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia. Entombment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park’s Mausoleum, S. Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
