Carl Shepperson Sr.

Carl A. Shepperson Sr., 75, of S. Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center. Born in Chesterfield, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Shepperson Sr. and Mary Bell Shepperson, and was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph (Cigar) Shepperson Jr, his twin sister, Carleen Gibson, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Shepperson. Carl regularly attended Oaklawn Baptist Church and was a retiree from Brown & Williamson Tobacco Company and Star Tobacco Company. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Irise M. Shepperson; his sons, Carl A. Shepperson Jr. and wife, Robin, and Rodney A. Shepperson and friend, Cassandra; a grandson, Richard A. Shepperson; a sister, Betty Whittington; and three brothers, Ray Shepperson and wife, Filomena, Teensie Shepperson, Gerald Shepperson and wife, Sylvia. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 7925 Hickory Road, S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Wayne Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Gill Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 10726 River Road, Chesterfield, Virginia 23838.
