Carmine Bricchi, 80, of Jarratt, Virginia died on Sunday, January 25, 2009. Mr. Bricchi was born on November 12, 1928 in New York City, and lived in Babylon, Long Island. He was a retired Detective 1st grade, from Suffolk County Police, and was a Licensed Private Investigator, New York State. He then moved to Florida, and later to Jarratt, Virginia with his wife, Rosemarie, who passed away in 2001. He was a veteran with the US Army having served in the Korean Conflict, as Staff Sergeant, and was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Badge, Korean Ribbon with 3 battle stars Commendation Medal and ten other ribbons. Mr. Bricchi is survived by a daughter, Maria Saunders, Captain, USAR and husband, Clay of Colonial Heights; and one brother, Henry Bricchi of New York. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 in The Church of Sacred Heart, 4415 County Drive, New Bohemia with Father Jay Wagner, Celebrant. The family will receive friends from 9-10:00 a.m. at the church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Fisher House Foundation, Inc., 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 600, Rockville, Maryland 20852. Services are being provided by the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
