Carol Nan Curtis, 87, of Petersburg, VA passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at her residence. Born in Evansville, IN she was the daughter of the late William Stanley and Marion Virginia Botzun Swan and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Susan Winter; and one sister, Nancy. Mrs. Curtis was a well-known artist in the Petersburg area and was also an active and longtime member of Blandford United Methodist Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Gerald D. Curtis; one daughter, Judith Lynn Griffith and husband, Rev. Dwight Griffith of Prince George, VA; a grandson, S. Matthew Winter; one sister, Annabelle L. Hart and husband, Gene of Rochester, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be also be fondly remembered by numerous other loving family and friends. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA with the Rev. Bob Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Rd., Petersburg, VA 23805. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Blandford United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1686, Petersburg, VA 23805.
