Carol Humphrey

Carol A Franklin Humphrey, 75, of Chester, passed away February 16, 2016. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years Oley Allen Humphrey Jr. of Chester; her son Oley Allen Humphrey III (grandson Andrew M. Humphrey) of Chester; her daughter Sherri Lynne Humphrey (husband Brian Rae) of Juneau, AK; her brother, William D. Franklin Jr, of Chester and her sister Sandra F. Bullinger of Chesapeake, VA. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in her death by her parents Annie W. Franklin and William D. Franklin Sr. of Chester, VA. Carol retired from Ft Lee Office of Procurement in 1997, in which she enjoyed a successful career of 30 years. Her love, however, was with family, friends, her home and gardening. Carol and Oley built a family based on love and respect; that family always included many pets including her most recent furry babies Lucy, Poppi and Buttons. It was often said that no animal would go hungry when around Carol. We hope you can join us in her remembrance at a graveside service on Friday, February 19, 2016 2:00 p.m. at Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia with the Reverend L. Raymond McGarr officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday February 18, 2016 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
