Carol James

Carol E. James, 67, of Chester, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at Chippenham Medical Center. Born in Richmond, she was the daughter of the late Bernard R. Ellis and Phyllis Webster Owen, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca McCracken. Mrs. James was a retired Insurance Agent, and enjoyed fishing and spending time at Harrison's Pier in Ocean View in Norfolk. She is survived by her children, Myra Farris and fiancé, Daniel Blaszak, George E. Miles and wife, Kaye, John J. James and wife, Jamie, and Charity E. Trapp and husband, David; grandchildren, James McCracken, Frankie McCracken, Travis Bishop, Kristal Clark, Keith Alexander, Chris Miles, and Sidney James; seven great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Will Ellis, Mary Anne Gibbs, Bert Ellis, and Terry Ellis. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
