Carol Ann Ward of Colonial Heights, Virginia, died Thursday, February 18, 2016, after a long illness with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Ware, Massachusetts, she was the daughter to the late Bernard and Camilla Dulak of Ware, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her daughter Joan Clark of Stafford, Virginia. Carol was a proud military US Army wife who travelled the world with her husband and three daughters, of all the places she lived - Japan was her favorite. Win or lose, Carol was a loyal Red Sox fan. For many years, Carol was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader and was a volunteer in support to school libraries worldwide. Carol leaves her husband and caregiver of 54 years Bill, her daughters, Chrissy Winfield and husband, Gordon of Dinwiddie, Virginia; Lisa Briley and husband, Rusty of Colonial Heights, Virginia. Carol is also survived by grandchildren, Josh Ferron and wife Baylee of Fort Benning, Georgia; Kristin Ferron of Woodbridge, Virginia; Tyler Ferron of Stafford Virginia; Carly Winfield of Dinwiddie, Virginia; and Grace Winfield of Dinwiddie, Virginia. Sisters, Elaine Adams (Lenny), Bernice Dulak; Brothers, Raymond Dulak (Carol), and Bernard Dulak (Faith); and numerous nieces and nephews all of Ware, Massachusetts. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with Father Lou Rouff officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
