Carrie Lee Sutphin passed away on May 26, 2009. She was born May 24, 1925 and raised in Jonesville, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Hubert James Sutphin; two brothers, Jim and Bascomb Smith; and three sisters, Ruth Smith, Eva Fields, and Alpha Huskey. During World War II, she worked in Michigan, helping assemble airplanes. After her husband returned from the war, they relocated to Perry, Ohio. For twenty years, she owned and operated "Karrie's Krochet Shop" there. There are still many loyal customers and friends in Perry, Ohio who will mourn her passing. She leaves a daughter, Carlyn (Barry) Bevins; two granddaughters, Tanya Lee Ornelas and Tiffany Lynn Mullen; a much beloved great-grandson, Jacob Daniel Ornelas all of Virginia; one surviving sister, Eva Holmes of Syler, Kentucky; numerous loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2009 in Perry Cemetery, Perry, Ohio with the Reverend Michael Cole officiating. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
