Cary Douglas Davis, Jr., 75, of Chesterfield passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. Born July 22, 1948, he was the son of the late Meryl Rice and Cary Douglas Davis, Sr., and was also preceded in death by his grandson, Ian Noah Butler; granddaughter, Brooke Ashley Davis; and two brothers, Wayne Allen Davis and Jerry Lee Davis.
Cary's faith was an integral part of his life. As a devoted member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, he found comfort and community in his faith.
Cary dedicated over 30 years of his professional life to Pepsi-Cola, Inc. in Petersburg, where he retired as a respected and cherished colleague. His commitment to his work and his colleagues was evident in his long and successful career.
Outside of his professional life, Cary was a man who found joy in the great outdoors. He had a particular fondness for cutting grass, an activity that brought him a sense of peace and satisfaction. His love for nature was matched only by his love for the beach, where he enjoyed many memorable trips with family and friends.
However, the greatest joy in Cary's life was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them, particularly his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Trudy S. Davis; sons, Cary D. Davis III, Todd E. Davis, Justin S. Davis and wife, Jacquelyn A.; daughter, Sherrie D. Phillips; grandchildren, Hope, Tyler, Karli, Landon, Blake, Jacy, Olivia, Sara, Megan, Graham, Claire; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Davis Agnor, Doris Watson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 9227 River Road, South Chesterfield, VA 23803. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening June 4, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
