Catherine Vance

Catherine Marie Vance, 95, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Connolly Grimes, and was preceded in death by two sons, Peter and Joseph Vance. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, a former member of the Roving Retirees of St. Augustine's Church in Richmond, and the Colonial Heights Seniors. She is survived by a daughter, Alice Simpson of Colonial Heights; seven grandchildren, Craig Simpson, Kelly Stiehl, Peter Simpson, Jeffrey Vance, Beth Ann Hall, Jack Vance, and Michael Vance; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Grimes of Avon, Colorado. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 16, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with Fr. Lou Ruoff, Celebrant. Interment private. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, Food Pantry.
