Catherine H. Wargofcak, 88, of Chester, died on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at St. Joseph's Home for the Aged. She was a native of Chesterfield County the daughter of the late Charles H. and Annie Blaha Hotz, and the widow of Michael Wargofcak She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Hotz Mrs. Wargofcak was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Colonial Heights American Legion Auxiliary Post #284, and the Petersburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by five daughters, Joanne Roberts and husband, Earl of Chesterfield, Mary Elizabeth Roberts of Chesterfield, Catherine Rose Stoupa and husband, Steve of Prince George, Anne Marie Wheeler and husband, David of Prince George, Theresa W. Prochazka and husband Adolph, of Franklin, Illinois; three sons, Michael J. Wargofcak and wife, Deborah of Georgia, Joseph Wargofcak and wife, Lou Ann of Chesterfield, Charles Edward Wargofcak and wife, Frances of Chesterfield; two sisters, Rosemary Scarborough of Colonial Heights, and Elizabeth Ann Michalek of Chesterfield; three brothers, Rudy Hotz of St. Joseph's Home, Joseph Hotz and Frank Hotz both of Chesterfield; twenty-five grandchildren; and thirty-seven great-grandchildren. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights with Father Lou Ruoff, Celebrant. Interment St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard and Wednesday one hour prior to Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church or St. Joseph's Home for the Aged, 1503 Michaels Road, Henrico, Virginia 23229.
