Catherine Wells

Catherine Brown Wells, 88, of Dinwiddie, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Dinwiddie Health Care Center. She was the daughter of the late Robert E. Brown and Ruth Kirkland Brown, and was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Oscar Wells Sr.; two brothers, Everett R. Brown and Thomas Alfred Brown. Mrs. Wells was a member of Crawford United Methodist Church in Dinwiddie. She is survived by a son, Wilfred Oscar Wells Jr. of Chester; daughter, Kathy Wells Cantrell of Dinwiddie; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Cantrell of Dinwiddie and Matthew Wayne Cantrell of Dinwiddie; a sister, Deloris B. Sprouse of Petersburg; numerous nephews and one niece; and three devoted friends, Janice, Trisha and Mike. A special thanks for all her Dinwiddie Health Care friends and family, and the Nursing Staff at Southside Regional Medical Center Five East and Four West. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Tom Lester officiating. Her remains rest at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
