Charla' Short

Charla' Toombs Short, 52, of Chesterfield, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018. She was born on May 14, 1966 and worked for Virginia Urology in Patient Accounting. Those who were lucky enough to try her food, knew she was an amazing chef and baker. She loved cats and dogs, but family was the most important thing in her life. Charla' was preceded in death by her daughter, Alexandra L. Titmus; and sister, Nita L. Toombs. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen L. Short; son, Jackson O. Titmus; parents, Charlie F. and Janet R. (Dunn) Toombs; brothers, Patrick F. Toombs and fiancée, Lynn Zemaitis, Marshall P. Toombs and wife, Crystal; stepchildren, Cameron, Stephen, Madaline, and Joseph Short; grandchildren, Aubree, Jasper, and Southerland Short; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at The Heights Baptist Church, 17201 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, on Sunday July 8, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Randall Hahn officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Charla's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org.
