Charles Randolph Crump, 92, of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday September 13, 2012. He was born on April 23, 1920 in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late Charles Lewis and Nannie Pearl Cardoza Crump and was preceded in death by his oldest son Keith Randolph Crump, three sisters Sylville Mimms, Lillian Taylor, Ester Crump, two brothers, Melvin G. Crump and Harvey Lewis Crump. Mr. Crump was a United States Navy veteran of WW II., a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association and a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights. Mr. Crump retired from the A&P Tea Company and the Colonial Heights Ukrop's. He is survived by his wife of 68 years Phyllis R. Crump, sons, Melvin H. Crump of Colonial Heights, Kurt W. Crump of Colonial Heights, daughter, Christine M. McDaniel of Colonial Heights, and their spouses, nine grandchildren, one step-grandson, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday September 17, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Steve Felker officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday September 16, 2012 from 3-4:30 p.m.at the funeral home.
