Charles Fowler

Charles R. Fowler, 80, of Ivor, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at his residence. Born in Southampton County, he was the son of the late William J. and Annie McCleny Fowler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Louise Shaffer Fowler, and four daughters, Nancy, Betty, Mary and Ginny. Mr. Fowler was retired from Philip Morris Tobacco Company, and was a member of the Petersburg Moose Lodge. He is survived by a daughter, Sheila Diane Garner (Edwin Hal) of Ivor, a son, Charles Edward Fowler of Chattanooga, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Rochele Fowler, Claude Edward Fowler and Daniel Fowler all of Southampton, and Willie Fowler of Suffolk; sisters, Barbara Ann Fowler of North Carolina and Vida Johnson of Franklin. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the funeral home.
