Charles Houser

Charles William "Charlie" Houser Sr., 83, of Chester, passed away on Thursday May 6, 2010 at Chippenham Medical Center. He was the son of the late Marvin A. and Lucy Wilkerson Houser. Mr. Houser was a United States Navy veteran having served during WWII. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Houser is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Ethel Marie Houser; two sons, Charles W. Houser Jr. and wife, Jeanne H. of Roseland, Virginia and Pastor Mark A. Houser and wife, Alice E. of Elkins, West Virginia; a daughter, Teresa H. Thompson and husband, Jeffrey L. of Matoaca; five grandchildren, Christine P. Houser, William K. Houser and wife, Jesica, Whitney K. Houser, Ronnie B. Thompson, and Amanda M. Thompson; one great-granddaughter, Emily Marie Houser; four sisters; one brother; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 10, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, 17001 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Ray Haskett and the Reverend Mark A. Houser officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
