Charles Clay Samsel, Jr., 73, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Born in Springfield, Missouri, he was the son of the late Charles Clay Sr. and Maggie Samsel; and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne Samsel. Mr. Samsel was a United States Army Veteran and was retired as an electrical engineer from the Virginia Department of Transportation. He is survived by his son, Charles Scott Samsel and wife, Pattie of Midlothian; lifelong friend, Lelia Henry and husband, Kenny of Colonial Heights; and six grandchildren, Christopher, Steven and Matthew Samsel, Parker and McKay Conner and Melissa Woltz. All services will be private. The family is being served by the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834.
