Charles Wesley Spain, 77, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. Born in Petersburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Franklin and Elizabeth Spain. Mr. Spain was a former member of the Amelia Baptist Church and was a United States Navy Veteran. He retired after 32 years as a Conductor for CSX Railroad. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen M. Spain; two sons, Pat Spain, Ricky Spain and wife, Suzie; step-son, Lonnie Worrell and wife, Karen; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George.
