Colonial Heights, VA - Charlotte Mae Desorcie, age 83, passed peacefully Sunday, August 9, 2015. Born in St. Albans on May 31, 1932, she was the daughter of the late George and Flora (Coburn) Firkey. She was raised and attended school in Highgate. For 56 years, she was lovingly married to Lawrence (Larry) Desorcie who passed in 2010. Charlotte and Larry were long-time residents of Colchester. Together they enjoyed the fellowship of western-style square dancing and RV travel. In 1997, they retired to the warmer climate of Zephyrhills, FL. Charlotte loved to treat her family to tasty, home-made baked goods. She was well-known for her woopie pies, red velvet cake and snickerdoodles. Charlotte leaves her children, James Desorcie (Maureen) of State College, PA, Ann Marie Russell (Glen) of Prince George, VA and George Desorcie (Caroline) of Westford; six beautiful and talented granddaughters, Alyssa Russell, Felicia, Jessica, Kimberly, Heather and Piper Desorcie and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Firkey in 2002 and sister Barbara Hanna in 2010. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 5, 3:00 p.m. at Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488. Interment will follow at New St. Louis Cemetery in Highgate.
