Charlotte Engels

Charlotte M. Engels, 85, of Matoaca passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Born March 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alton Meredith and Agnes Holt, and was also preceded in death by her husband, William Jacob Engels. Charlotte was a lifetime member of Matoaca United Methodist Church, where she served as the Chairman of Worship. She retired as a Registered Nurse after about 30 years of dedicated service. She loved doing various crafts, putting together flower arrangements and visiting the Outer Banks with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Anne Meredith Engels; son, William Kent Engels; grandchildren, Hayley M. Burrels and wife, Samantha, Amanda B. Engels; great-grandchildren-to-be, Maison and Owen Burrels; and other extended family members. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in Matoaca United Methodist Church, 6301 River Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803, with the Reverend Richard Gordon officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday night, May 30, 2018, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
