Charlotte Mae Cottrell Lucas, of Colonial Heights, born on October 14, 1925 died June 13, 2012. She was retired from Citizens National Bank and was the first woman teller in the state of Virginia. Mrs. Lucas was a long time member of Highland United Methodist Church. She was the beloved wife of the late Retired Lt. Colonel Aubrey Lee Lucas, former mayor of Colonial Heights. She is survived by her sister, Mildred C. Lewis (Ralph) of Alexandria; brother, Carl B. Cottrell of Colonial Heights; nephews, Frank O. Simmons, Jr. and Todd Lewis; niece, Susan S. Dahlie; and five great-nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Salvation Army and Highland United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank all those that gave care and comfort to her during her long illness. Funeral arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
