Cheryl Harrell

Cheryl Mraz Harrell departed this Earth on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at the age of 56. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Harrell; her father, Edward P. Mraz; and her mother, Lois G. Mraz. When she wasn't out and about with her lifelong friend, Debbie Rhoten, she could be found participating in bluegrass jams at her church, donating her time to charitable knitting groups, or among the crowds at concerts given by her pal, Arlo Guthrie, or her cousin, Jason Mraz. She was devoted to her faith, her family, and her friends, ever the loving daughter and always the adoring wife. It was as the latter that she enjoyed her most precious moments alongside her husband, Mike, both of them proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that God gives us just the right person at just the right moment. Their match was made in Heaven, where they are finally reunited, "so happy together." And it is this happiness Cheryl would wish for everyone. As a true child of the 60's, she was one of the finest examples of the peace and love generation, truly believing we should all take a cue from the Youngbloods and "love one another right now," smiling upon all her brothers and sisters, never finding fault in anyone, always seeing the good in everyone. Would that the world had more groovy, beautiful spirits like Cheryl Harrell. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at River's Edge Bible Church, 11311 James River Drive, Hopewell, Virginia 23860 with the Reverend Rob Wootton and the Reverend Wayne Good officiating. Burial will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens, 11302 Merchants Hope Road, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the service at church. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
