Christine O. Farmer Christine O. Farmer, 77, of Colonial Heights, passed away December 23, 2010, at her residence where she was cared for by her loving and devoted daughter. Born in Cottonwood, Alabama, Mrs. Farmer moved to Virginia in 1953. Shortly after settling in Virginia, Mrs. Farmer became part owner of Farmer's Transmission Service and Farmer's Grocery Store; two successful family owned and operated establishments in Colonial Heights and Chesterfield, Virginia, for more than thirty years. Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her parents Irby and Resie Oliver, and husband of thirty-seven years, David E. Farmer. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Farmer-Forehand and son-in-law, Larry M. Forehand of Colonial Heights; four grandchildren, David L. Forehand of Sarasota, Florida, Kathy Forehand-Tyler, Christopher W. Forehand and Joshua P. Forehand all of Colonial Heights, Virginia; seven great-grandchildren, Devon E. Forehand and Abigail Lara-Jean Forehand of Sarasota, Florida, Haley K. Tyler, Casey E. Tyler, Logan M. Forehand, Teresa L. Forehand and Adrienne J. Forehand all of Colonial Heights, Virginia; one brother, three sisters; three special sisters-in-law, Kathleen Hoyle, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, Mattie Birchette, of Hopewell Virginia and Myrtice Farmer, of Chesterfield, Virginia; numerous great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday December 30, 2010 in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia.
