Christine Crump McDaniel, 72, of Colonial Heights passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Southside Medical Center. Born on November 6, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Charles Randolph Crump and Phyllis Prosser Crump, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee McDaniel Jr., and a brother, Keith Crump. She retired after many years of service from LabCorp. Christine was a hardworking and selfless woman, always putting the needs of her family first. She loved to spend time with her loved ones, creating memories that will last forever. Whether it was a quiet evening at home, a family gathering, or enjoying sunny days at the beach, Christine cherished every moment with her family. The beach was one of her favorite places, where she found peace and joy in the simple pleasures of life, often surrounded by the people she loved. She is survived by her sons, Charles Clifton McDaniel, and Christopher Lee McDaniel (Hope); grandson, Charles Thomas McDaniel; brothers, Melvin Crump, Kurt W. Crump; brother-in-law, Michael McDaniel; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday February 25, 2025, in Blandford Cemetery, 319 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia with the Reverend Jim Burton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday evening, February 24, 2025, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
