Christine Barfield Price, 74, of Colonial Heights, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at her residence. She was a native of Cobbtown, Georgia and was the daughter of the late Johnnie and Annie Sikes Dowd. She was the widow of her first husband Wilfred Lee Barfield Jr. and a retired switchboard operator for the Richmond Petersburg Turnpike. Mrs. Price was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Young at Hearts Club at Elm Street Baptist Church in Petersburg. Survivors include her husband, Linwood F. Price Jr.; a son, Allen Keith Barfield Sr. and wife, Leanne of Chesterfield; a daughter, Pamela Barfield Faison of Matoaca; four grandchildren, Allen Keith Barfield Jr. and wife, Jana of Chesterfield, Cammie Lynn Brown and husband, Billy of Chesterfield, Justin David Faison and Jessica Lauren Faison; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Keith Barfield and William Wallace Brown III "BB"; step-daughter, Linda Price Murray and husband, Mike of Colonial Heights; step-son, Leonard F. Price and wife, Carol of Moseley, Virginia; two granddaughters, Angie Elliott and husband, Lee of Richmond, and Heather Price Tyler and husband, Andy of Newport News; one grandson, Shawn Price and wife, Shawn of Virginia Beach; two great-granddaughters, Carley and Molly Elliott of Richmond; three great-grandsons, Logan, Tanner and Garrett all of Virginia Beach; sister in-law, Jean Love of Green Bay; sisters in-law, Carolyn Hendricks and husband, Ed, of Dinwiddie, Jewell Green and husband Bobby of Tenn.; several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2008 in Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Road, Colonial Heights, Va. 23834, with the Rev. Al Thorne officiating. Burial to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends at the church (tonight) Thursday, November 6, 2008, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The family is being served by the Colonial Heights chapel of the E.
