Clarence Arthur "Art" Reed, Jr., 69, of Dinwiddie Co., VA passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. Born in Mount Holly, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Clarence A. Reed, Sr. Known to many as "Junie" and "Crazy Horse" he was a member of the McKenney Ruritan Club, the Rocky Run Hunt Club, and was also a life member of the Hopewell Moose Lodge. Mr. Reed was a United States Navy veteran and was also a dedicated member and deacon of McKenney Baptist Church. Art is survived by his wife of 32 years, Elaine Johns Reed; his mother, Irene Reed; one son, Joseph A. Reed and wife, Michelle; two grandchildren, Jessica and Tyler Reed; one sister, Bonnie Reed Larson; a brother, Bruce Reed; and a brother-in-law, James E. Johns. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. Interment will follow in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield, VA. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2015 and from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Virginia Horse Rescue, 389 Boydton Plank Road, Brodnax, VA 23920.
