Clarence E. "George Lee" Hawkins, 83, of DeWitt, Virginia entered into eternal life at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born June 6, 1934, he was the son of the late David Lunsford and Mary Slate Hawkins, and was also preceded in death by his first wife, Fannie Cairns Hawkins; five sisters; three brothers; and stepson, Chuck Moore. He is survived by his devoted companion and wife, Clara Moore Hawkins; children, Renee Davis (Doug), George Hawkins, Sr. (Karen), William "Alex" Hawkins (Carol); step-children, Chris Moore (Cynthia), Chad Moore; grandchildren, Jeremy Davis (Kim), Vanessa Davis, George Hawkins Jr., Tammy Hawkins, Donald Hawkins, Hunter Hawkins, Norah Hawkins; step-grandchildren, Victoria, Kimberly and Kenneth Moore; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alexis and Forest Davis, Eric Robertson, Angle and Jacob Milliner; sisters, Jeanie Reeves and Rose McCaffity (Billie); and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, with the Reverend, George Whipple officiating. The family will receive friends Friday night, September 15, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S.
