Clarence Scherer Jr.

Clarence M. "Doc" Scherer Jr., of Ohio, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away Thursday October 2, 2014. He was the son of the late Clarence M Scherer Sr., and Iva Dellen Scherer, and was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Melba J. Scherer. Mr. Scherer served with the United States Navy as a Seabee in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post 284, and a Mason. Mr. Scherer enjoyed singing, cars western movies and the beach. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Michael Davis, one granddaughter, Brittany Davis, all of Colonial Heights, a brother Kenneth E. Scherer of Colombia, South Carolina. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday October 10, 2014 in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Virginia. Funeral arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
