Claude Henry Harpole

Claude Henry Harpole, 93, of S. Chesterfield, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. Born and raised in Mississippi, Henry was the son of the late Oswald and Virgie Harpole, and was also preceded in death by his grandparents; son, Jerry Harpole; and sisters, Liza White and Billie Jean Barton.

At the age of 22, Henry was drafted into the United States Army, proudly serving his beloved country and retiring after 20 years and 8 months of dedicated service.

After his retirement from the Army, he worked in the parts department of Broyhill Ford and for NAPA Auto Parts, which he enjoyed very much. He enjoyed gardening, watching car races and the Dallas Cowboys.

Henry is survived by his wife of 71 years and 9 months, Margaret; daughter, Julie; grandson, Michael Harpole; three great-grandchildren, Christian, Kira and Jack; brother, Demar; sister, Gay McCain; two dear friends, Pete Garnes and Joyce Bratton; and other extended family members.
