Clifford R. Ferguson, 89, of South Chesterfield, Virginia joined his wife in heaven on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born on October 4, 1931, in Ashmore, Illinois. At the age of 18, Cliff left the farm to join the United States Air Force, where he traveled extensively, working as a lineman fueling aircraft. After retiring as a Tech Sergeant in 1970, he moved to Virginia to begin a second career hauling liquid nitrogen and oxygen for N.C.G. Industries, now known as Air Liquide America Corporation. 20 years later, he retired from his trucker career, embarking on adventures with his wife, Ianthy, traveling far and wide across the U.S. and Canada. Cliff attended Oaklawn Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Michael R. Ferguson (Jacqueline); a daughter, Tammy L. Faulkner (J.A.); a grandson, Michael B. Ferguson (Ashley); his sister, Darlene Coartney; and numerous nieces and nephews residing in Illinois. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2021 at The Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia Courthouse, Virginia 23002. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oaklawn Baptist Church’s Building and Ground Fund, 7925 Hickory Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803, or a military support group of your choice.
