Clifford Francis Perks, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. After a long battle with cancer, he went to be with the Lord and his loving wife, Phoebe. He was born in Syracuse, New York, on February 17, 1932, and had four brothers and five sisters. After serving in the U.S. Army, he fell in love and was married to his dear and devoted wife for 60 years. They raised a family in Colonial Heights and he worked as a plumber at Fort Lee. A very handy man, he enjoyed nothing more than fixing things in his workshop and lending help to friends and neighbors. He also relished his multiple visits to Disney World. A sweet and wonderful man, he is survived by his four children: Carol Coe (Ed); Joan Jude (Wayne); Clifford Jr.; and Robert (Karen). He was beloved PaPa to his five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
