Clifford Bramwell Stout, 95, of Southern Chesterfield County, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo B. and Minnie Hall Stout; a sister, Mae Stell; a son, Brian Lee Stout; a niece, Sheila McCoy; and his beloved cat, Razzie. Cliff was a proud World War II veteran, serving as a front-line supply truck driver in the European Theater, and he was a retired locomotive engineer, for Norfolk & Western Railroad, starting as a fireman on a steam locomotive. Mr. Stout was a lifelong resident of the tri-cities and long-standing member of Ettrick Baptist Church. Cliff has been an avid Washington Redskins fan since the 1930's. He was a talented country guitarist and vocalist, who wrote many songs. He was an animal lover and a home-body, who accomplished many projects, including building his own home from the ground up, as well as digging the basement by hand. Mr. Stout is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Dorothy Thompson Stout; his daughter, Carol Evans; son-in-law, Derek Evans; niece, Patty Edwards; and nephews, J.D. and Dickie McCoy. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2014 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Bert Browning officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
