Clora “Betty” Watson

August 24, 1936 — June 18, 2021

Clora “Betty” Watson, 84, passed away in her home June 18, 2021 after a period of declining health. Born in Anderson County, Kentucky, she was preceded in death by her parents, Nellon Faye and James C. Sea.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Audie Watson, Sr.; sons Michael L. Dean and Randall K. Dean; and son-in-law, David  Juarez.

Clora was retired from the bakery at Walmart in Colonial Heights. She had a strong faith in Christ and attended Sunday services on TV from her home. She was a partner to the 700Club and did not ever want to miss watching 'Pat' daily. She loved to go fishing and really missed not being able to go. But her biggest passion was the love she had for her family, always giving unselfishly and instilling that value to all is her greatest legacy she leaves to us.

Left to cherish her memories are devoted sister, Jimmie Faye Lundie of Chesterfield; sons, James Dean of Juarez, Mexico and Audie Watson, Jr. (Chastity Elmore) of Chesterfield; daughters, Sandra  Dean of Dinwiddie and Lisa Juarez of Jackson, Mississippi; granddaughters, Destiny Watson of Colonial Heights, Lisa Faye Dean Ortiz, and Flor Karina Ortiz Rodriguez of Chihuahua, Mexico; great-grandchildren, David and Katia Ortiz, and Santiago, Hector and Julia  Dean, also of Chihuahua, Mexico; and nephew, Frank Lundie (Shelley) and children.

Due to her love for family and her unselfish spirit, over the years many 'adopted' her as their mom and grandma. Her adopted family includes Patricia Pedrick of Dinwiddie; Amy Mann and children, Mya, Zen (whom she had a very special place in her heart) and Josie of Colonial Heights; Gavin and Allison Elmore of Chesterfield, Cathy Macdougall of Dinwiddie; and Robert Gutierrez of Bryan,Texas.

The family would like to extend thanks and gratitude to the team from Kindred Hospice for their care and compassion, giving special thanks to her nurse, Laura.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on June 29, 2021 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Ave. Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
