Clyde E. "Gene" Lee, 79, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on January 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late, Emmett Harrison and Thelma Sheperd Lee; and was also preceded in death by his two brothers, George R. Lee and James F. "Jimmy" Lee. Gene was a 1958 graduate of Petersburg High School and had also served as the President for the Petersburg High School Reunion Committee. He retired from Allied Signal (Honeywell) after 34 years of dedicated service. Mr. Lee is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Wilma S. Lee; three children, Eugenia L. "Gina" Trainor and husband, Bob, Cheryl S. Whitlock and husband, Paul and Patrick E. "Ricky" Scales, Jr.; four grandchildren, Stacey R. Daniel, Courtney L. Daniel-Newman and husband, James, Keaton A. Scales and Rachel E. Trainor; one great-granddaughter, Kayleigh V. Newman; a brother, Harry W. Lee; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2016 at E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Rev. Phil Andrews, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the funeral home.
