Courtney W. Padgett, 86, of Dinwiddie, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. She was born on December 5, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, to the late Willie Garland and Lula Mae Watson. Mrs. Padgett was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years Otho E. Padgett Jr., daughter, Nancy Hames; three brothers and two sisters. She was a founding member of Second Chance Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia. Survivors include her children, E.G. Pete Twisdale and wife Victoria of Dinwiddie, Judith I. Stiehl, and husband Walter of Ashboro, North Carolina, Patrick Wayne Padgett of Richmond, Debby Padgett Kyle and husband William of Chesterfield; grandchildren, Phillip Twisdale, Preston Twisdale, Thomas S. Immel III, Kimberly Immel Williams, George Lewis Immel, Timothy Walker Immel and Ronnie Lee Hames Jr.; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary W. Brooks of Colonial Heights, Virginia; brother, John H. Watson of Chester, Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Friday, February 15, 2013 in Second Chance Baptist Church, 2701 County Drive, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend David Prather officiating. Burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday in Westhampton Memorial Park, Richmond, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
