Curtis Breeding

Curtis Donal Breeding, 83, of Chesterfield County, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the Towers in Richmond. A native of Russell County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Jessie and Laura Puckett Breeding. Mr. Breeding was employed 35 years with ASCS, U.S. Department of Agriculture, of which he was County Executive Director of Chesterfield and Powhatan Counties for 28 years. He retired in 1984. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the South Chesterfield Ruritan Club for 21 years, and was an active member of Wood's United Methodist Church since 1961. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Carden Breeding of 47 years; two brothers, Dewey Breeding and wife, Louise of Gate City, Virginia and H. Conal Breeding (Twin) of Roanoke, Virginia; brother, Roger Breeding of Bristol, Virginia; two sisters, Carol B. Walters and husband, Maurice of Lebanon, Virginia, and Brenda B. Davis and husband, Rocky of Cleveland, Virginia; several nieces and nephews, special cousins, Louise Breeding, and Aline Johnson, both of Lebanon, Virgina; and a devoted niece Laura McMahon of Roanoke, Virginia. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Joe Carson and Reverend David Morefield officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8:30p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard 23834.
