CW3 William Harold Garner USA (ret.), 86, of Petersburg, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013. He was the son of the late Willie and Odessa Coleman Garner. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Gail; and a son, Timothy Harold. Mr. Garner was a retired Chief Warrant Officer with the United States Army. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Joyce Garner; a son, William Otis Garner of Texas; a daughter, Susan G. Rogerson of Petersburg; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Lester Doyle; a sister, Frances Bush both of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with Reverend David Prather officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
