Daniel P. Henderson, 44, of Chester lost his courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Petersburg, he was the son of the late Danny Paul Henderson. Daniel was the Used Car Sales Manager with Heritage Chevrolet in Chester, Virginia, where he worked for many years. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Beth Henderson; son, Alexander P. Henderson of Chester; his mother, Josephine "Josie" Jessup Henderson; grandmother, Josephine B. Jessup; mother and father-in-law, Tom and Joyce Ebbert of Chesterfield; two sisters-in-law, Tammy Gangwer and husband, Walter of Amelia and Melissa Kaylor and husband, Nathan of Chester; niece, Paige Gangwer; several nephews, Joshua Childress, Joseph Kaylor, Andrew Kaylor, and Benjamin Kaylor; and longtime friends and pallbearers, Scott Hathcock, R.W. Sperber, Todd Wilson, Tommy Tucker, Jason Burton, Rick Taylor and Alan Morris. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Jason Elmore, Associate Pastor of Bethia United Methodist Church in Chesterfield, officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
