Daniel Propst Jr.

Daniel Lawrence Propst, Jr., 93, of Colonial Heights, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lawrence Propst Sr. and Maggie Bame Propst; and one daughter, Marsha Bame Propst. Dan is survived by his wife, Louise Rainey Propst; one daughter, Alice Propst Coats of Chester; son-in-law Oaker R. Coats, Jr of Chester; two grandchildren, Oaker R. Coats III and Amanda Lousie Coats, of Chester; and two nephews, Richard and Donald Leonowicz. Dan was a former member of High Street United Methodist Church and a current member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII in the Philippines. Dan was a retired branch manager for the Petersburg DMV office. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and extended family. A funeral ceremony will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3701 Conduit Rd, Colonial Heights Va. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial park in Chester, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 2033 Boulevard.
