Danny Henderson

Danny P. Henderson, 71, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Born in Caribou, Maine, he was the son of the late Omar Paul Henderson and Gladys Henderson Sowder. Danny was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, a devoted Christian, and a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He was a member of the Colonial Heights American Legion Post #284 and the Petersburg Elk Lodge #237. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Josephine "Josie" Jessup Henderson; son, Daniel Paul Henderson and wife, Crystal and only grandchild, Alexander Paul Henderson all of the Colonial Heights/Chester area. His siblings, Claudia S. Cardwell, Gloria S. Simmons, Eileen S. Womack, and Jimmy Sowder; sister-in-law, June J. Smith and husband, Lenny "Buddy" of Matoaca; and mother-in-law, Josephine B. Jessup of Colonial Heights and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Jim Pfost officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
